With the New Year now well and truly upon us, we thought we’d give you a run down of what’s changed in the Continental range for 2016.
For the racers amongst you, we have an all new high performance tyre in the form of the ContiTrack Slick.
We’ve fine tuned the construction and revitalised the compound to make these tyres even more competitive on circuit, offering more precise steering and increased traction out of the corners to help you find the perfect line and power into the straight.
Stability under hard braking has also been improved, and the range of available sizes has increased, with a number of compound options available suitable for both UK and European conditions.
120/75, 160/60 and 200/65 sizes will only be available from the 2nd quarter of 2016, so please follow us on Facebook or speak with one of our race dealers to keep up to date on product availability.
If you love you’re high performance sports bikes, then you’ll love our brand new ContiSportAttack 3 hypersport tyre.
One of the key design briefs was to improve wet grip, when compared with the previous ContiSportAttack 2. To do this our engineers in Germany have completely redesigned the tread pattern, in order to better shift water from around the contact patch. The new tyre also uses our very latest latest Rain Grip compound in order to provide better wet grip, improving rider confidence on wet roads, or even on track.
Our innovative Grip Limit Feedback technology allows you to ride right on the edge, giving you excellent feel and plenty of warning when you get close to the limits of the tyre.
This will be the official tyre of California Superbike School UK in 2016 – the first track training school in the country to achieve Gold Standard accreditation from the The Motorcycle Industry Accreditation Centre.
We’ve got two new tyres in the popular ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO range engineered specifically for use on heavy touring bikes such as the FJR1300.
Riders of heavy tourers will probably be all too familiar with the different demands that these bikes place on tyres.
The ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO has already been tested in it’s standard form by the FJR Owners Club in 2014, and went down very well, but this version will stand up to the rigors of packing in the miles on these types of bikes even better.
This expansion to the range gives even more riders the opportunity to discover the benefits of riding on Continental.
Bound to be a popular option for the growing cafe racer and scrambler market along with the TKC 80, as well as budding adventure riders, the acclaimed TKC 70 dual purpose tyre now comes in three extra sizes:
- 120/70 ZR17 M/C (58W) TL M+S – Front
- 160/60 ZR17 M/C (69W) TL M+S – Rear
- 180/55 ZR17 M/C (73W) TL M+S – Rear
We expect these to arrive in the UK in the 2nd quarter of 2016, and again they will open the range up to a much wider range of bikes.
The TKC 70 combines the on-road handling of the popular ContiTrailAttack 2 with a more aggressive tread pattern which give it a level of genuine off-road ability, allowing you to explore more than ever before, without sacrificing mileage!
As ever, if you have any questions about our range, please don’t hesitate to contact us by email or social media!
