It was a superb weekend for the Tyres 4 Bikes supported duo of Warren Verwey and Colin Norris, riding under the banner of Team Sorrymate.
The reigning Hottrax National 600 Endurance Champions were in action at the Scottish Knockhill circuit, the first time Hottax have visited the circuit since 2007.
Looking to retain their 2013 title, and currently lying second in the series nothing but maximum points would do for Team Sorrymate this weekend, and their performance did not disappoint.
The Team Sorrymate duo led the 600 class from very early on in the race, and with 30 minutes to go the only riders in front were the Scotbeen Racing pair on their 1000cc BMW by a total of two laps. By the time the chequered flag fell, that time was down to just 40 seconds after 189 laps, thanks in part to some fantastic work by Warren and Colin on the smaller 600 to close the gap and bring home a 1st in class keeping them well in contention for this years 600 title. There was little time for them to celebrate however, as Warren heads to the Isle of Man to take on the Manx GP.
Also in action was Craig Robertson of CMR64 Racing, who had managed to get a very quick turnaround on the mechanical issues which he struggled with in the previous meeting to get out on track in Scotland on his ZX-7R. Race one was held in the dry, and Craig said the ContiRaceAttack Slicks “were in their element, providing awesome side grip through the tight and twisty Scottish hills” allowing him to take a well-deserved 3rd place on the podium.
The final three races were all held in the wet, and Craig switched to the ContiRaceAttack Rain which Craig says “supplied me with all the confidence needed to complete all 4 races this weekend on the podium and close some points on the front runners”with another three 3rd placed podiums.
Congratulations to Warren, Colin and Craig on their great results, not long until the next round at Oulton Park!
