With spring fast approaching and the weather starting to pick up, thoughts begin to drift towards to the 2016 Classic race season.
In October , Team Manx , with riders Andy Stewart , Steve Ault and Clive Ling , headed to Snetterton with an ex Dan Kneen /Ryan Kneen 1985 Suzuki GSXR750 for The Endurance Legends, an event backed by Continental which saw the UK’s first 4-hour classic endurance race take place at the Norfolk circuit – the brainchild of Rob and Darin at Classic Bike Trackdays.
Despite the poor weather conditions at Snetterton on race day, and using a set of ContiRaceAttacks, Team Manx put in a confident performance to secure 1st place in the Formula 2 class and 2nd place overall, less than a minute behind eventual winners Team SCERT on an XR69.
Andy Stewart also took a commendable 4th and 5th place on the roads at the Belgian Classic TT at the famous Circuit de Gedinne last September in the Post Classic 4T stroke Class on his 1979 F1 Peckett and McNab Suzuki.
In preparation for the new season the team are currently working hard on their Peckett and McNab Suzuki, which will be fitted with a set of our ContiRoadAttack 2 CR tyres, also used by European Classic Bike Series 2015 champions Phase One.
It is hoped that they will compete in the Endurance Legends event with the GSX-R750 slabside racer once dates are finalised.
The whole team at Continental Motorcycle UK would like to wish Andy and the rest of Team Manx the very best for the season, and we look forward to bringing you further updates on their performances throughout the year!
