The ContiSportAttack 3, as used by California Superbike School in the UK, has recently been tested by Chris Newbigging of Performance Bikes Magazine.
Riding the new 2016 YZF-R1 from Yamaha, Chris found the OE tyres too aggressive on the road, and turned to Continental’s latest hypersport tyre as the answer to his problems.
In their July 2016 issue, Chris says:
“I have a solution. Continental’s new SportAttack 3 is a fast road tyre that’ll stand the odd trackday. The profile is more rounded, the compound more forgiving when cold or wet than the trackday Pirellis. They’ve transformed my confidence in the R1 for mundane and general road riding – it feels much nicer on gentle input and moderate lean. They feel fine in the wet too – triggering the rider aids is hard.”
With a completely revised tread pattern, combined with our unique Rain Grip compound, the new ContiSportAttack 3 has significantly increased wet grip over it’s predecessor, whilst also promising more mileage.
Chris is also testing a set of ContiRaceAttack Comp tyres on the Performance Bikes racing Bandit project in soft front and medium rear, and we’re looking forward to seeing how he gets on with our increasingly popular race rubber in the coming months!
