Alan Russell from A&R Racing seems to be spending much of his life at Brands Hatch, after travelling down to the circuit the past three weekends for both work and for pleasure.
As well as supplying and fitting tyres last weekend to riders, Alan was also competing in the first round of the NG Racing 2016 season.
The weather was cold and grey over the famous Kent circuit, as Alan put the final preparations in place on his Suzuki SV650 ahead of the opening Minitwins race.
Saturday got off to a fantastic start, with Alan riding well, his ContiRaceAttack Comp tyres giving him the consistent grip he needed to take two wins, and set two fastest laps in the process.
The opening race on Sunday was red flagged with Alan out in front again. After waiting 20 minutes for the restart in freezing temperatures, the race got underway once again, with Alan being wiped out by another rider on the first right hander after Surtees.
Thankfully both bike and rider came out relatively unscathed, and some quick and efficient repairs saw them both line up back on the grip for the final contest of the weekend. Starting from the back fo the grid, Alan scythed through the field and eventually took the win by an impressive 5 second margin.
Congratulations to Alan on a great performance – next weekend you’ll find both Continental and A&R Racing at Donington for the second round of Thundersport GB, so please come and see us if you have any enquiries.
