Last night we were in attendance at the official unveiling of RS Racing’s 2017 race bikes which are set to compete in various classes across Thundersport GB, whose season starts in early March.
This year’s team line-up features three riders for the first time in RS Racing’s history, with Golden Era Superbike contender Ryan Strafford leading the charge on his Golden Era SBK Honda RC51 SP2.
Last year Ryan, backed by Continental, finished second in the class sandwiched between John Dieterman and Richard Blunt, also running on the same German made ContiTrack Slicks. This year he’s got his eye on the top prize, but will have to keep an eye on his new team mate Andrew Meachen on his earlier generation SP1.
Also joining the team all the way from Texas is AJ McDaniel who will be competing in the Continental sponsored Pre-National Sport 600 class in his debut season aboard another Honda, this time a CBR600RR.
The team wheeled the bikes out of the workshop yesterday ahead of the official launch at the Rising Sun Pub in Norristhorpe, West Yorkshire and you can check out some of their photographs in the gallery below.
Race action kicks on the first weekend of March on Brand Hatch’s Indy circuit, and we wish the whole team the best of luck for 2017.
