Just announced for 2016, Yorkshire based RS Racing and Continental Motorcycle UK will continue their partnership next year in Thundersport GB, as rider Ryan Strafford once again looks get his hands on the Golden Era Superbike title.
We first started working with RS Racing at the start of the 2015 season, and since then have gone on to develop a strong working relationship with Ryan and team who have been running on the ContiRaceAttack brand all year.
This season saw Ryan start strongly, taking his first win in the second round at Donington with a superb performance in the wet, with podium finishes at Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Cadwell and Oulton Park.
A heavy crash at Rockingham, probably one of the worst circuits on which to crash in the UK, saw Ryan miss the final two of four races that round. The following meeting at Anglesey saw the team’s Honda RC-51 plagued by rear shock issues, which caused Ryan to crash out heavily once again, putting him in hospital.
Confidence somewhat knocked, Ryan still got out on the bike at Donington and Cadwell, scoring an excellent 2nd place in the penultimate race of the season in difficult damp conditions, to finish 4th in the championship on 425 points.
Despite the unfortunate setbacks, Ryan is as determined as ever to come back even stronger next year, and the team now have several months to work on the bike to get it ready for the opening round of next season.
Making the announcement Ryan said:
“We are delighted to announce that RSRacing will be partnering with Continental tyres for the second year going into the 2016 GoldenEra SuperBike championship.
During the 2015 season we built a strong relationship with Continental and we look forward to expanding on that bond.
Having the right support is essential to contending for a championship and RSRacing have no doubt Continental have the right tyres for the job.”
We very much look forward to working with them next year, when the new ContiTrack Slick will also be at their disposal, and as for the title, watch this space!
