The annual bike festival held at the Prescott Hill Climb circuit near Gloucester in aid of the National Blood Runner’s charity was again well attended despite the not so great weather conditions on the day.
Our UK Brand Manager Graham Matcham was on hand representing the Continental brand, backed with support from Mathew and Owen of the Continental Two Wheel team in the UK in order to help Chris Mullins Tyres promote road safety and advise riders on making the right tyre choice, not only for their machine but their usage too. Quite in keeping with our latest Tyre Tech Talk series in RiDE magazine!
The Hill Climb Sprint itself was fully subscribed for the whole day with everything you can imagine running up the hill on both 2 & 3 wheels, from vintage class motorcycles to sidecar racers and modern day race bikes. Unfortunately the wet weather conditions meant we didn’t get to see any record breaking times, but they certainly did offer some interesting moments for both riders and spectators alike.
We even took the opportunity to have a quick walk around the pit area and soon came across a serious diversity of bikes, including George Formby’s Isle of Man Special from the 1935 film No Limit! We even saw a few 4 wheeled vehicles managed to sneak past the security gates.
You might have also spotted Continental rider Nick Sanders out and about on the day! He was even approached for a photograph by none other than Richard Hammond of Top Gear who admitted to being somewhat of a Sanders fan himself!
Not only does this event give us the chance to support such a worthy cause it also gives us the chance to speak with motorcycle enthusiasts and Graham and the team had a good day with a lot of interest in the Continental brand. With the introduction of the new ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO sport touring tyre with it’s increased mileage and improved wet grip, along with the recent launch of what is becoming one of the most popular adventure sport tyre choices in the ContiTrailAttack 2, the brand continues to go from strength to strength. Both of these products feature a number of flagship Continental technologies seen across a large section of their high quality range, including Traction Skin which reduces the need for scrubbing in the new tyre, as well as Black Chili compound for fast warm up times even in colder conditions.
Thanks to all that visited the stand and showed their support despite the poor conditions during the day, it was great to meet so many of you! If you missed out, keep an eye out for other shows we will be attending this year via our website!
