Cadwell Park played host to the second round of the North Gloucester Road Racing season last weekend, as the paddock descended on Lincolnshire for some high-octane racing.
Riding for Knight Road Racing Ducati in the Supertwin class, Alan Russell came to Cadwell off the back of a double podium at Anglesey, and looking to extend his good run of form.
The opening race saw Alan starting from the second row of the grid, but he soon got the better of front runner William Holland, and also held off a strong challenge from fellow Continental rider Paul Wardell to take his first win of the season for the team. Holland and Wardell got the better of Alan in the second contest, as he had to settle for third place. Unfortunately for the team, the weekend ended on something of a low note, as the bike failed to finish the third and final Supertwin race. Meanwhile, Wardell took another well earned 2nd place.
Paul is also seeking to defend his Minitwins title, claimed on Continental tyres last season. He battled hard with William Holland in all three races, but had to settle for 2nd spot on all three occasions.
After switching from treaded to slick tyres in the 600 class, Pro Bike Racing’s James Evans claimed his best results in the class to date with a 4th in the opening contest, followed by two 5th places.
Will Bryant was also running ContiTrack Slicks on his CBR600 in the Pre-Injection 700s, and dominated the first two races of the weekend, taking back-to-back wins on the steelie, followed by 2nd in the final outing on Sunday.
Congratulations to everyone who was racing at Cadwell over the weekend.
The North Gloucester club will be back in action at Snetterton early next month, which promises to be another exciting meeting.
