This weekend saw Hottrax head to Donington Park with 2013 ACU National Endurance 600 Champions Colin Norris and Warren Verwey of the Sorrymate Team taking part in the “Super Six” 6 hour endurance race as they aim to retain their title from last year.
Running on ContiRaceAttack Slick tyres and supported by Tyres 4 Bikes the two Sorrymate riders were well in the mix for the 2014 championship after podium finishes in the first rounds at Brands Hatch and Cadwell Park earlier this season.
The teams arrived at a very wet Donington Park on the Friday, although Warren and Colin did manage to get in some pre-race testing in the sunshine on the Thursday along with some of the other riders. The weather picked up over the course of the race weekend, otherwise a switch to ContiRaceAttack Rain may have been required!
During the early stages of the race the team slipped back to 5th in the field, but after getting on the gas and putting in some superb riding stints between them they managed to overhaul the leaders and open up a lead, which by the end of the race saw them win by more than two whole laps at the East Midlands circuit.
Congratulations to Warren and Colin and everyone involved with the team, we are hoping for even more glory at the next round as you chase a 2nd consecutive title on Continental!
