Costing less than £1900 and put together only three days prior to race day, this shed built SV650 muscled its way onto the podium at Aberdare Park over the weekend, where a break in the Welsh rain saw riders competing on a dry roads circuit.
It was built by Charles Reynolds of Continental dealer Kickstart Motorcycles in Port Talbot, and was ridden by the talented Matthew Rees with stock brakes and suspension. Matthew would also be riding Kickstart’s MV Agusta F3 675 over the course of the weekend in a number of other races.
Fitted with our ContiRaceAttack Comp treaded race tyres, Matthew just missed out on the podium in the early race but picked up the pace to take 3rd place in the final Lightweight contest, just 0.182 seconds behind Paul Gartland in second place on his ER650. The shed built minitwin also finished ahead of a stunning Honda RS250GP machine which was running on full slick racing tyres around the 0.9 mile parkland circuit.
Congratulations to the Kickstart team and Matthew on this well deserved result!
