Racing’s very much in our blood here at Continental – which is why we love following the progress of the numerous homegrown riders and teams we work with in the UK, whether it be in Thundersport, at the Manx GP or even the European Classic Bike Series but to name a few.
In 2016 we are also embarking on a new challenge by backing the new Lambretta Club of Great Britain Production Class in association with the British Scooter Sport Organisation.
The new series will see riders battle it out over 8 rounds on the famous Italian machines at some of the UK’s top circuits including Mallory Park, Lydden Hill and Cadwell Park with it’s iconic mountain.
We offer a wide range of scooter tyres to suit all styles of machine including race scooters, and for this new series a Continental tyre programme has been made available through VE (UK), whose owner Norrie has real pedigree when it comes to scooter racing.
Tyres available through the programme in association with VE (UK) are as follows:
- Dry Conditions – ContiTwist Race (3.50-10 59P reinf. TL)
- Wet Conditions – ContiMove365 (3.50-10 59P reinf. TL M+S)
Before the season kicks off there will be a test day at Mallory Park on 18th March, and our UK Brand Manager Graham Matcham will be in attendance to meet with the riders and answer any questions you may have.
You can find out more about the series and download the entry forms on the BSSO website.
We look forward to bringing you further updates throughout the season, and wish the all competitors the very best of luck!
We’ve also got some other scooter racing news to be announced very shortly, so stay tuned for more information via our Facebook page.
