As well a testing the latest ADV rubber on the new Africa Twin, the expert team at Europe’s top 2-wheel tyre tester Motorrad Magazine have also been trying out new hoops on the KTM 1290 Superduke R.
Among the tyres tested was the new ContiSportAttack 3, our latest hypersport tyre ideal for fast road and occasional track day use as used by California Superbike School UK – and it comes highly recommended.
In their 19/2016 issue, the Motorrad team had this to say:
“Extremely neutral steering performance across the entire banking range and excellent grip after just a few meters – while still providing good feedback. Wet grip is noticeably better than the previous tyre, in addition to its improved handling. Good performance when used occasionally on the race track.
With a completely redesigned tread pattern, combined with our unique Rain Grip compound, the new SportAttack 3 sets new boundaries in terms of wet weather performance from a hypersport tyre.
It also features a number of other core Continental technologies including Traction Skin, which practically eliminates the scrubbing in period for a new tyre to increase rider safety and give high levels of grip from the very first mile. A patented zero degree steel belt optimises the contact patch at all angles of lean, and MultiGrip creates a dual-compound style rear tyre from a single piece of rubber, removing the feeling of step that you often feel when transitioning from one compound to the other coming in and out of corners on standard dual compound tyres.
