With a trip to Switzerland on the horizon, Fast Bikes editor Rootsy was thinking about switching his KTM 1290 Superduke R Special Edition for something a little less noisy.
As of 2016, the Swiss police have been taking more of an interest in noisy bikes that top the 80db threshold.
However, with a bit of assistance from the manufacturer’s UK HQ, Simon is hoping it will sit just under the radar next month, so the big super naked will be heading to the continent after all.
With plenty of pannier space, the a tendency to pack light, there should be no need for Simon to carry any of the load personally on his trip.
Ahead of his jaunt through The Alps, Rootsy has fitted the latest ContiSportAttack 3 tyres, perfect for handling all that power, even as temperatures start to drop.
In the November 2016 issue, Simon says:
“The Contis should get a proper work out here, and from what I’ve seen so far I’m impressed with what they can offer. They’re a similar set to the Dunlops that came off, but so far I found them to be a bit quicker steering and haven’t suffered one jot from big handfuls of throttle. But their true test will be in the land of the Toblerone, so more next month on tyres and machinery…”
So far so good, and we can’t wait to see how he gets on in the next issue!
