Wirral 100 Golden Era Supersport 2015

It was a fantastic weekend of action with the Wirral 100 Club at the Angelsey Circuit on Saturday and Sunday, especially for Manchester based rider Alex Dyla who claimed the 2015 Golden Era Supersport title on ContiRaceAttack Comp tyres.

Riding his Honda CBR600 FT, supported by Continental race tyre dealer In Front Motorcycles, Alex has been consistent all season, scoring a number of wins and plenty of podium finishes to give him the edge over his closest rival Adam Rees. He’s also seen his personal best lap times at Trac Mon tumble by several seconds after switching to Continental rubber.

ContiRaceAttack Comp reviewAlex has had the support of his sister Holly throughout the 2015 season, who has been helping to cover the cost of his tyre bill so that he could concentrate on winning the championship. She has been cheering him on from the pit lane, feeling every moment of every race, as if she were on the bike herself.

Following his championship win, an ecstatic Alex commented:

“I am over the moon on winning the championship, a year ago I thought it was completely beyond my reach but with a good team, commitment and a bit of luck we got there. A massive thanks to James Powell from InFront Motorcycles, Chester. He has helped me out all season both on track and off.

As for the Continental tyres, I was apprehensive at first as I had never really seen any being used (apart from the slicks) but it turned out to be the best move I made. At the 2015 Angelsey Grand I managed to take my lap times down by 4 seconds! There is as much feel as a Pirelli but with more controllable slides. The only time I fell off in the dry was due to bike set up. I plan to go on and use these tyres on a newer 600. I have trust in them.”

Alex is currently selling his championship winning bike, and has his eye on a CBR600RR for next season – and we look forward to seeing him in action in 2016!

Congratulations to Alex, Holly, and crew chief Chris Green on an excellent year!
