MW Motorcycle’s Chris Moore put his Classic TT mechanical woes behind him last weekend at Darley Moor, to take the Pre-98 (up to 500cc) class title with a round still to spare!
Riding his Yamaha TZ250, shod with Continental racing slicks, Chris took four wins from four races with wife Lorna cheering him on from the sidelines.
An opening win in the first Lightweight race saw the Yamaha rider extend his lead in that class, and a formidable fastest lap very much set the tone for the rest of the meeting – an ominous sign for others on the grid.
The second race saw Chris finish comfortably ahead of his nearest challenger at the Derbyshire track, setting another fastest lap in class in the process. He repeated this performance later on in the meeting in his final contest to give himself an unassailable lead in the Pre-98 series, giving him a well deserved championship title.
The final Lightweight race also saw Chris take another win and fastest lap, but with double-double points up for grabs in next month’s Stars of Darley meeting in a single 15 lap race, that championship hasn’t been sealed yet. Chris currently leads by 19 points, with Neil Lloyd in second hoping for a vital win in October.
Congratulations to Chris on his fantastic performance, and fingers crossed for another championship title next month!
