Earlier this year, we had the pleasure of supporting the Cancer Wales Moped Challenge.
The group of riders from Newtown in Wales, all riding their unmissable pink scooters, set off an on epic journey around the entire perimeter of Wales, aiming to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research Wales.
Through David Jones Motorcycles, Continental donated a set of ContiTwist scooter tyres for each rider, and they definitely put them to the test, riding in all weather conditions, on some of Wales worst rural roads that hug the countries coastline. They also got in a wet track session with a difference at Pembrey circuit.
On 25th October, the group travelled to Cardiff to present a cheque for an amazing £17,177.12 to Dee Spiteri of Cancer Research Wales. This total has since risen to a final figure of £18,596.97, which sees the team smash their initial target.
In a recent letter, letting us know how they had got on with their fundraising Joint Organiser Hywel Thomas said “All twelve scooters covered the 1000 miles without a single puncture – a testament to the quality of the tyres you supplied.”
Congratulations to everyone involved in this fantastic project!
