Golden Era Supersport Tyre Options

It was a superb weekend of racing at Donington Park last weekend, as the penultimate round of the Thundersport GB series rolled into town for two days of adrenaline fueled thrills and spills.

One rider who has been having a great season is Ryan Cooper of Coops Racing, competing in the Golden Era Supersport Championship and the Derby Phoenix Pre-Injection 600 class – and last weekend was no exception!

After qualifying at the front of the grid for the first race, Ryan ran away with the victory, clocking the fastest lap of the race in the process on his Race HQ prepared Yamaha. The second of the day’s races saw Ryan land another podium finish, just 0.242 seconds behind race winner and fellow championship contender Robert Goodall.

Following the usual overnight break, the first race on Sunday got underway, with Ryan again finishing in 2nd place, although more importantly ahead of Goodall, a result repeated in the final race of the weekend later that afternoon. Ryan also recorded four wins in the Derby Phoenix Pre-Injection 600 class, giving him a total of 8 trophies to take home from the weekend’s racing.

treaded motorcycle race tyres for ThundersportRyan and his ContiRaceAttack Comp shod Yamaha have been working hard all season, and he now lies in 3rd place in the championship with 391 points, and will be back in action on 17th & 18th of October as the season draws to a close at Cadwell Park, a favourite track amongst riders.

Lying in 4th place in the championship is fellow Continental rider Martyn Bloomfield, who also managed to sling his leg over his Yamaha at the weekend despite breaking several bones in his right foot. During practice, the bike in front of Martyn threw something up from the surface of the track which hit his right foot at high speed, and saw the Chester based rider make a trip to the local hospital. But despite the pain Martyn bravely decided to get back on the bike and came home with an 11th placed finish in the first race, and then three 9th placed finishes – and a large dose of painkillers.

Best of luck to all the Continental riders who are head to Cadwell in three weeks time, we can’t wait to see you back on the podium again!
