Manx GP tyresWith less than 50 days to go until his outing at the ManxGP, Dilligaf Racing rider Steve Moody was in action at Mallory Park this weekend for the 4th round of the EMRA Club Pre-Injection Championship, and the question on everybody’s lips was could he emulate the performances of a little known Spanish rider at Assen just a week earlier and make it 8 wins out of 8 in his 2014 season.

Despite the ominous clouds rolling in behind the team as they arrived at the Leicestershire circuit, it appeared that their run of good luck with the weather would continue as the sun broke out. Heading out on his Honda CBR600 shod with a pair of street legal ContiRaceAttack Comp treaded race tyres, Steve put in a brilliant qualifying session to take 2nd place on the grid, and first in the Pre-Injection class.

In the first race of the weekend Steve lined up on the grid along with the super and mini twin riders, getting off to an excellent start as he left the field behind along with supertwin rider Tom Neave, treating spectators to a lap after lap battle for the top spot right to the death. Steve was keeping the bike pinned, putting in a 56.215 to set the fastest lap of the race and took the 1st spot in class for another top of the podium finish.

Following a high side on his Triumph in the Supersport class, which led to the race being red flagged and Steve landing on his head, the team literally lifted the current championship leader back on to his Honda for the second EMRA Pre-Injection Championship race of the day. This time Steve did not get a great start off the grid, slipping back to 5th in the pack but he methodically picked off the riders as the race progressed, adrenalin seeing him through the pain of his fall earlier in the day. Steve again took a 1st in class to take another podium top spot and maintain his 100% winning record on Continental this season with 8 wins from 8.

Steve now has 120 points from eight races, with his closet rival Gary Bradley of GAB Racing sitting 46 points behind the leader. Congratulations to Steve, Elaine and team on some great results!
